I’m Justin Smith, a retired United States Coast Guard veteran with a lifetime spent on the water. From offshore operations and maritime law enforcement deployments around the world to years of fishing the Carolina coast, the ocean has always been more than a job to me — it’s home.
After transferring back to North Carolina in 2016, I immersed myself in the local charter industry, working as a mate on several respected Topsail-area boats while learning every inlet, creek, and stretch of water this coast has to offer. After earning my Captain’s licenses, I turned a lifelong passion into reality by launching Ofishal Charters.
Whether you’re chasing redfish in the backwaters, looking to fill the cooler, introducing your kids to their first fish, or simply wanting to experience the beauty of Topsail from the water, my goal is simple: give every guest an unforgettable, safe, and authentic coastal experience.

Spend an unforgettable day fishing around the waters of Sneads Ferry. Ofishal Charters will help you explore the inshore and nearshore spots, while catching tasty fish on the way. The trips are available year round and anglers of all experience levels are welcome to join. You don’t need any kind of special preparations to enjoy this exciting sport.
You’ll be fishing from a 21’ Nautic Star boat that accommodates up to 3 anglers. She’s powered by a 150 HP Suzuki engine and features the latest navigational electronics, a wireless trolling motor, and a live bait tank. We offer inshore and nearshore trips (weather dependent), you will have the possibility of catching Red Drum, Speckled trout, Flounder (when in season), Black Drum, Sheepshead, Atlantic Bonito, Spanish Mackerel, and King Mackerel.
Your fishing equipment is fully covered by the captain and he takes care of your fishing license as well. You only need to bring some snacks and drinks for the day. To enjoy long hours on the boat, it’s best to have sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen with you.
